ПОСТАТЬ ВОЛОДИМИРА МОРОЗА В ДИСИДЕНТСЬКОМУ РУСІ УКРАЇНИ.

Abstrakt: The article is dedicated to Valentin Yakovlevich Moroz, a Volyn resident, political prisoner, active participant in the dissident movement, author of more than 100 works, Doctor of Humanities at Jersey State College, member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers «Slovo», honorary citizen of Volyn since 2017. He was born on April 15, 1936 in the village of Kholoniv (Volyn Voivodeship, Republic of Poland) according to the modern administrative-territorial division of the Gorokhiv district of the Volyn region into a peasant family. After graduating from school he entered the history department of Lviv University, later part-time graduate school. He worked as a headmaster and teacher at a rural school. Since 1964, fate has closely connected him with Lutsk, where he worked as a teacher at the Lutsk Pedagogical Institute. It was here that V. Moroz began work on his dissertation, which was devoted to the repression of the Polish authorities against members of the CPSU (Lutsk trial of 1934) in Lutsk, and the first trial over him took place. Arrested in September 1965. for st. 62 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR (antiSoviet agitation and propaganda) in January 1966 V. Moroz was sentenced to 5 years in a concentration camp. He served his sentence in Mordovia, where he wrote and published a self-published work «Report from the Beria Nature Reserve.» After serving his sentence nine months after his release, he was arrested again and sentenced to 9 years in prison and 5 years in exile. Only under pressure from the world community V. Moroz was released in 1979. . He and four other dissidents were exchanged for two Soviet spies. A long period of emigration began. He first settled in the United States, then Canada. He taught at Harvard University, published the magazine «Anabasis». He was able to return to Ukraine only in April 1990. From 1997 he lived in Lviv and worked as a lecturer at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture. He died on April 16, 2019. He was buried in Lychakiv Cemetery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
