We also endorse their message that the additional value of fetal MRI appears to be much lower than suggested previously based on studies comparing axial ultrasound planes to multiplanar MRI; overall, in cases of ventriculomegaly, MRI detected 1.1% more cases of IVH than did multiplanar neurosonography6. Low-grade peri- or intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) was encountered more often on neurosonography than on axial ultrasound and MRI. We thank Drs Moradi, Naybandi Atashi, Kazemi and Rahmani for their appreciation of our manuscript regarding the additional value of fetal neurosonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in a population of fetuses at risk for acquired brain anomalies1.
