We grew single crystals of EuCo2P2 and EuT2Ge2 (T: Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, and Pd) by the Bridgman method and Sn- and Influx methods, and studied their magnetic properties by measuring the specific heat, magnetic susceptibility, and magnetization with the magnetic field parallel to the tetragonal [100] and [001] directions. The anisotropic magnetization curves of these compounds were found to be explained by the J0-J1-J2 Heisenberg molecular field theory model proposed by Johnston [Phys. Rev. B 96, 104405 (2017)], suggesting that the magnetic ground state is a helical antiferromagnetic structure with the helix axis along the [001] direction. On the basis of the results of the present experiment, the anisotropic magnetic properties of EuRh2Si2 are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
