This Letter investigates the transmission method for downlink full‐dimension multiple‐input multiple‐output systems. To balance the performance and the amount of channel information acquired at base station, a dual‐layer beamforming method is proposed, which exploits the statistical as well as effective channel state information (CSI) of a small fraction of users. User scheduling and grouping algorithms utilising only statistical CSI are also proposed. Simulations verify that the proposed transmission method can achieve high throughput with much less CSI, and can flexibly balance the requirement of CSI and performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
