Abstrakt: The main objective of this paper is focused on implementation in MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape real time environment of four closed-loop control strategies, such as a standard proportional-integralderivative, sliding mode controller, a fuzzy logic control approach and a hybrid fuzzy sliding mode control structure, conceived as an alternative to the PID standard control strategy. The fourth control strategies are applied to control the speed of a 2 HP 1750 rpm permanent magnet direct current motor that is modelled in Simscape and is used in a wide range of control applications. The novelty of the paper is a new modelling approach using Simscape language, the design and implementation in Simulink/Simscape of a photovoltaic renewable power source to supply the dc motor, the design and implementation in Simulink/Simscape of a 10 kW-local dc microgrid connected to photovoltaic panel dc source. Also, the design and implementation in the new modelling approach of fourth proposed control strategies, represents a substantial contribution of the authors in this current research.
