Herpes virus (HSV) is a worldwide healthcare problem. Dental health care professionals are at a high risk of infection by HSV. The present study investigated the knowledge and awareness of Herpetic ulcers among dental Interns in dental colleges. A questionnaire based survey was conducted among 100 dental students. Questionnaire was distributed through a survey link. Results were collected and analysed using IBM SPSS Statistical Analyzer (23.0 version). Descriptive statistics and Chi square tests were used to analyse the data. The study consisted of 100 undergraduate dental students. The study participants mostly belong to the age group 21 to 23 years (77 %) compared to the age group 19 to 20 years (23 %). Students who responded mostly belong to the female population (68 percentage) compare to the male population (32 percentage). Interns (67 %) were the most number of students who responded to the study. The results of the study showed that the awareness on diagnosis of herpetic ulcers among dental students varied according to the participant’s age and year of study. Students aged 21 to 23 years were observed to have more knowledge on diagnosis of herpetic ulcers among dental students. The results of this study should alert all educators of future dental care providers to consider how their students are educated about providing care for patients with HSV infections.
