Fifteen male rats, Albino Dawley rats, approximately age 7- 8 week were utilized for this study that divided into three groups, Group A: control received equivalent quantity sterile distilled water for the same period, Group B: treated orally with 0.5 g Flaxseed that dissolved in 5 ml of sterile distilled water, Group C : treated orally with 1 g Flaxseed that dissolved in 5 ml of sterile distilled water. The levels of some blood biochemical parameters (Glucose, Total protein, Albumin, Globuline, Blood urea, Uric acid and Creatinine) of male rat have been estimated in all subjects. The levels of serum Total bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST),alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and lipids profile have been determined in all subjects also. The results showed a significant (p< 0.05) decrease in serum glucose, blood urea, uric acid, creatinine, cholesterol, LDL and VLDL in groups B and C as compared to group A, While the levels of globuline and HDL showed a significant increase in the same groups as mention above. However total bilirubin, ALT and AST levels appear significant differences when compared group C to group A . The levels of albumin and ALP did not show any statistical significant alterations.
