Abstrakt: The article analyzes the possible impact the "likely to become a public charge" (LPC) law on immigrants, local and state governments, care providers and other entities in the U.S. Topics discussed include the history of the LPC law, its intermittent use as a tool of government-sanctioned discrimination, and the use of unilateral force by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to change the LPC law.
