Diabetes Mellitus [DM] is a metabolic disorder characterised by relative or obsolete insufficiency of insulin and resultant disturbances of carbohydrate metabolism. People with poorly controlled DM are at greater risk for dental problems. They are more likely to affect with oral infections. High and low blood sugar may also be able to cause many oral manifestations and some emergency situations in dental office.
