Abstrakt: Detection and isolation of target cells from heterogeneous mixtures are highly demanded in medicine, tissue engineering, and cell biology. Likewise requested are measuring techniques for significant biomarkers indicating changes in cellular phenotype like size distribution and deformability of blood cells. A forward‐looking and label‐free cell enrichment concept based on a membrane system made out of a stimulus‐responsive hydrogel is strived for. Therefore, in order to obtain the necessary insight into deformable objects transported within a microfiltration system, the behavior (i) of the flow, (ii) of the membrane, and (iii) of the cells, as well as their interactions, has to be well understood. In the present research both, experimental and numerical investigations are performed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
