The paper deals with Juraj Rusnákʼs scientific research legacy in the field of journalism, media communication as well as of communication theory in general. From a linguistic standpoint, he focuses on text semiotics, often overlapping with pop music production (lyrics) and the emotionalization of media content, but the list of his published works also includes reflections on the electronic media and pop culture. The aim of this study is to point out the coherence of Rusnákʼs academic activities in terms of journalistic, media, and linguistic theories, practice, and education of university students.
