The article evaluates the efficacy of a random regression model (RRM) genetic prediction for heifer first-service conception rate (FSCR). The resulting expected progeny differences (EPD) to those obtained using a traditional animal threshold model (ATM) are compared. Topics discussed include heifer pregnancy in Red Angus cattle, artificial insemination, and FSCR at different ages of insemination. |
