A recent trend in secure authentication has been using voice as the biometric of choice. Increasingly, financial institutions and insurance companies are using voice authentication when dealing with their clients over the phone. As with any new and trending technology that brings about more convenience, new vulnerabilities are introduced as well. Voice authentication is no exception. In this brief perspective, voice authentication will be reviewed, its features and strengths presented, and its vulnerabilities discussed.
