For posttest 1, students evaluated a Mars mission plan from another (fictional) group of students. At a recent meeting of the Space Exploration Educators Conference at Space Center Houston, NASA astronaut Joseph Abarca encouraged the teachers present to consider that the students in their classrooms will be the next generation of outer space explorers destined for Mars in the 2030s, 2040s, and beyond.
