The Schiff base1-(4-(dimethylamino) benzylidene) urea [I] were synthesized by condensation of 4- dimethylaminobenzaldehyde with urea in absoluteC2H5OH in the presence of glacial acetic acid as a catalyst. We synthesis compound [II]4-(3-(4-(dimethylamino) benzylidene)ureido)-4-oxobut-2-enoic acid by the reaction of maleic anhydridewith schiff base [I]in DMF. While, the treatment of compound [II] with ammonium persulfate (NH4)2S2O8(as initiator) with various drugs: theophylline, salbutamol ,trimethoprim obtained polymers [III]-[V]. The structure of synthesized compounds identified by spectral data: FTIR and 1HNMR spectroscopy. The polymers [III]-[V] have been screened for their antifungal activities and antibacterial activities. The antifungal activities examination against Candida albicans in three different concentrations of polymers and they exhibited moderate to good antifungal activity. These synthesized derivatives [III]-[V] were tested by agar well diffusion method for their antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli and the results showed that all polymershad higher growth inhibition zone diameter.
