Abstrakt: The proper, swift and better healing process is the always goal of any tissue repair, although its accomplishment is not an easy task. Many theories and strategies have been suggested to improve healing process and achieve the perfect tissue healing. Our hypothesis implies that using of Therankeron could enhance and accelerate wound healing process. The objective of the present study was to evaluate using of Therankeron to improve full-thickness wound healing. To assess our new agent, an in vivo study was performed on 8 dogs. Animals (n=8) were divided into two randomize groups. A full-thickness of 7cm length wounds were created on the umbilical region of all dogs. In the treated group, Therankeron was applied twice on the induced wounds, first time one week before surgery and the second time was applied at the same time of surgery. While in the second experimental group the same is done but with using of normal saline instead of Therankeron. Umbilical wounds were monitored macroscopically and evaluated clinically at daily basis until day 15 post-operation. All wound samples were subjected to histological examination at the end of experiment. Clinical and macroscopical results indicated that there was no clear variations in wound healing process between two experimental groups, while the results of histopathological evaluation revealed the presence of less oedema, more abundant newly formed blood vessels, more mature collagen fibers and granulation tissue inTherankeron group as compared to normal saline group. In conclusion, our study showed the ability of Therankeron to enhance and accelerate better full-thickness wound healing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
