Abstrakt: Despite previous calls for socially just and critically oriented perspectives in leadership education research, renewed energy is desperately needed to resist the, "...forces of the status quo", (Senge, as quoted in Andenoro et al., 2013). An Evolutionary Approach to Leadership Education The next evolutionary step in understanding leadership learning will require centering socially just processes and outcomes in leadership education research. Methodological Considerations Efforts to bring social justice and leadership education into closer contact have already been described in the extant literature (e.g., Guthrie & Chunoo, 2018); however, stronger empirical evidence is needed to develop and implement high-impact practices in socially just leadership education. Lastly, leadership education scholars must be intentional about presenting and deploying critical leadership education research to directly disrupt and resist the dominant status quo.
