The article focuses on phenomenon of the crusades has been seen from the perspective from the clash between Islam and Western Christianity. It mentions 12th century Syrian Christian living below average moon as dhimmis, protected and burial mound and dotted by some mysterious sculptures that they remembered that that place had been an important sanctuary pagan. It also mentions desecration of the monastery, of its church, and the mistreatment suffered by its peasants and monks. |
