The assessment of changes in the stress-strain state of parts and structural elements made of metal materials after a significant period of operation remains an important and urgent task, which is being addressed by specialists in various fields, including non-destructive testing. This paper presents the results of a study of the effect of elastic-plastic deformation by uniaxial tension on the change of the magnetic characteristics of 20K boiler steel, which is used for such critical engineering objects as pressure vessels, including large volumes up to several tens of m3.
