This study aims to describe and analyze the financial and non-financial performance variance among the palm oil smallholders cooperative business model of the FELDA, FELCRA and KPSM. Different cooperative business model potentially creates variation in the performance. This study employs survey technique to gather data from 234 palm oil cooperatives in Peninsular Malaysia. Descriptive, One Way ANOVA and Post Hoc analysis are used to analyze the data. The findings show that most smallholders cooperative lean to adopt the product/service differentiation strategyby the offering of the one stop fresh fruit bunch agglomeration centre and to manage members' farm- as its effort to generate income. Based on the ANOVA analysis, the KPSM cooperatives differ significantly from the FELDA cooperative model in the financial performance items consist of "achieving the target profit" and "strength of cash position to cover short term liabilities". Simultaneously, the FELDA and FELCRA models differ significantly in terms of financial performance item related to "dividend payment to members". Furthermore, the non financial performance shows significant mean differences between KPSM and FELDA in "education aid for members' children" item. This study contributes to the body of knowledge by elaborating performance across different cooperative models within the Malaysia palm oil smallholders' cooperative context. Practical implication derives from the study is the cooperative management can optimize the natural strengths of cooperative entities to strenghten competitiveness through the opportunity to control the entire palm oil value chain activities and the benefit of the symbiotic relationships with parent agencies. From the knowledge aspect, this study expand new knowledge within the scope of Organizational Behaviour and Strategic Management fields by presenting findings related to the performance of palm oil smallholders'cooperative which are still understudied.
