The platinum-alumina catalyst with platinum content of 0.5 wt.% was synthesized and investigated in the co-conversion of methane with pentane and pent-1-ene to aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene and toluene) under non-oxidative conditions. The catalyst was characterized by atomic emission analysis, IR-spectroscopy, CO chemisorption. There are both metallic platinum and its ionic forms on the platinum-alumina catalyst surface, platinum dispersion is 68 %. Basic directions of non-oxidative co-conversion of methane and model C5−hydrocarbons were determined in the temperature range 748–823 K. The pent-1-ene isomers and diene hydrocarbons were detected and determined in the mixtures of products of co-conversion of methane and pent-1-ene. The yield of benzene and toluene at 823 K is 35 wt.% for co-conversion of methane and pent-1-ene which is 13 wt.% more than for the co-conversion of methane with pentane at the same temperature.
