The cotton aphid or melon aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover, is one of the most important pests of vegetables in the greenhouse. Due to the high reproduction rate and rapid development, A. gossypii has a propensity for developing resistance to many classes of insecticides. One method for delaying the occurrence of pest resistance is the application of insecticides with different modes of action. The present research was performed to assess the efficacy of Proud3® (EC 5.6%) at the rate of 8 and 10 mL/L along with flonicamid® (WG 50%, 0.25 g/L) and pirimicarb (WP 50%, 1.5 g/L) against A. gossypii in the greenhouse based on a completely randomized design. Based on Henderson-Tilton formula, on the 14th day after treatment, the minimum efficacy of Proud3® at 8 and 10 mL/L, flonicamid® (0.25 g/L) and pirimicarb (1.5 g/L) were 60 and 79%, 97%, and 20%, respectively. In general, Proud3® (EC 5.6%) at the rate of 10 mL/L provided significant control of A. gossypii, in the greenhouse. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
