Dear Editor, We read with great interest the article1 describing the impact of COVID-19 on medical education in Hong Kong, where a pilot study implemented distant surgical teaching for final year medical students using web-based surgical skills learning (WSSL) via Zoom. As UK based medical students at King's College London, who have recently progressed to final year, we have also experienced great shifts in our medical education as a result of COVID-19. The lack of a surgery rotation and standardised surgical teaching means student exposure to surgery and surgical skills is very variable and dependent on student motivation and resources.
