The best relationship between the out-of-plane capacity of a masonry wall and a proper intensity measure of the ground motion, defined according to the criteria of efficiency, practicality and proficiency, is investigated in the present work. At this aim, to account for the record to record variability, a cloud analysis has been performed considering 88 earthquakes recorded in the last twenty years in the Central Italy area. The results show that the PGV is an efficient IM for the slender blocks, while deeper blocks appear more influenced by the PGA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
