Abstrakt: 1D and 2D ZnO nanostructures have been synthesized, characterized and applied as ethanol gas sensors. The XRD results revealed that 1D nanorods have been grown vertically along c-direction due to strong (002) peak. The FE- SEM investigation has performed the formation of nanorods and nanoporous structures. The dependency of alcohol sensing performance on the morphology was investigated and discussed. In addition, a possible mechanism for sensing alcohol involving adsorption and desorption of the species on the surface of the sensor is also proposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
