Abstrakt: This article reports that Australian independent producers will be working overtime at this year's MIPCOM to secure presales for telefilms and miniseries from the international television community to make up for a decrease in funding available for individual projects from the local market. The shortfall is a result of a surge in popularity of both genres with Australian television audiences and a greater demand for funding from the Film Finance Corp.'s AUS $15 million ( $10.7 million) budget for the 2004-05 year. The funding body this month released amended investment guidelines under which the percentage investment for adult drama has been lowered from a maximum of 50% to a max of 35%.
