Creating spaces to work on themes such as environment, sustainability and healthy eating is a practice adopted in early kindergarten schools. In this sense, the garden is a tool for workingon various themes and developing students' commitment to theenvironment and to food production using sustainable techniques. Thus, this work aimed to plan and implement a vegetable garden at Municipal School of Early Childhood Education Sol Criança(Santiago, Rio Grande do Sul) and at Colégio Totem (Cachoeira doSul, Rio Grande do Sul). The planning of the garden was carriedout with the help of teachers and pedagogical coordination of theschools involved, in order to provide greater interaction for studentswith the garden. For this, the beds were prepared with used tires,so that all the space was accessible to students. Members of theHorta Viva at School Extension Project prepare the flowerbeds andon the day of the vegetable planting the students and teachers ofthe schools participated in the activity. Activities were also plannedto be developed with students during the school year. The gardenhas allowed for greater integration between students, and the spacewill serve for various teaching-learning activities in schools. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
