Abstrakt: Nowadays, the automotive industry aims to develop lighter vehicles, especially EVs. Thus, lightweight alloys such as aluminum sheets have been increasingly used to make various automotive panels. In this work, effects of material anisotropy on forming limit behaviour of AA5052-H32 aluminum sheet were investigated. Tensile tests of samples having different notch geometries as well as stretch-forming tests of Marciniak samples were carried out for obtaining the fracture forming limit curve (FFLC). In addition, sample orientations with regard to the rolling direction were considered by the formability analysis. The resulted anisotropic FFLCs of investigated sheets were compared and discussed. Finally, experiments and FE simulations of a cross-die forming test were carried out. The Hill'48 yield criterion and Swift hardening law were applied to describe the anisotropic plastic deformation. Then, failure occurrences of formed part were predicted by the FFLCs taking into account the material anisotropy. It was found that the proposed FFLCs could more precisely describe the formability of the examined aluminum sheet than the conventional FFLC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
