One day a few years ago, I decided finally to realise my fantasy and to teach the first grade. I was then a high school teacher and I was involved in teacher training, but I had no experience or preparation to teach very young children. I thought that it would be both fun and interesting. It turned to be a very complex, challenging and difficult educational experience. I didn't succeed in meeting the challenge and, after a month, I resigned. With great pain. This article tells the story of my four long weeks in the first grade, about the magical moments, the despairing moments, the moments of laughter, the moments of joy, the moments of discouragement, and the moving moments.
