Polypyrrole/chromium oxide (PCO) composite was obtained by mixing Polypyrrole (PPy) and chromium oxide (Cr2O3) in vibration mill. PCO composite was used to measure room temperature AC electrical properties. FTIR and XRD techniques were employed to characterize the PCO composite. Impedance analyzer was used in the range of frequency 100Hz to 1MHz to analyze AC electrical properties of PPy and PCO composite. Comparative analysis of dielectric constant, dielectric loss tangent, AC conductivity and impedance of both PPy and PCO was carried out. Structural, morphological and electrical studies of composite hinted its resistive type sensing performance and hence it has been proposed for an efficient device fabrication.
