Abstrakt: The existence of material traces with special cultural value in a certain geographic area could lead to a certain profile of the locality, so as to extend the functional area after them. In our study we are making an analysis of all the locations situated along the Danube, where the traces of the ancient fortresses of antiquity and also of the medieval period prove the intense life of the past, and we are investigating to what extent they constitute today tourist attractions, or participate in the local cultural profile. The study is based on the comparative analysis between the Sucidava Fortress Citadel and the other Danubian citadels. Methodological steps were followed. Firstly, local analysis of the city's ruins is required, followed by the empirical analysis of questionnaires and surveys for the resident population and tourists in the area regarding the tourist promotion of the city's ruins and their inclusion in the tourist circuits. The next step is to compare the unspoken fortresses with Sucidava Fortress Citadel and its role today in the Corabia city profile. Our results show that promotion through educational tourism and cultural tourism in general contributes to the stimulation of the desire to know local history in European context. Most of these cities are not sufficiently promoted, but can represent, over time, through an administrative policy aiming at highlighting the local cultural heritage, a real source of income and not only, for every locality. This can be done by several methods, one of which could be its inclusion in school visits, their involvement in educational activities, followed by their inclusion in national and European cultural circuits. The consequent results provide a visibility framework regarding the following local materials. The local population wants their involvement in promoting them, and tourists are interested in them and are looking to discover as many historic places as possible. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
