Acute dacryoadenitis with a significant thrombocytosis in 10-year-old boy, is a rare pediatric condition. The interdisciplinary clinical approach in outlining the possible differential diagnoses and their prompt distinction, is of key importance for the outcome of the disease. Moreover, the choice of reliable diagnostic clinical, para-clinical and imaging methods is crucial for the selection of an adequate therapeutic approach. The successful treatment outcome requires regular monitoring of the results of the local and systemic therapy as also performing numerous follow-up examinations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
