The results of a bibliometric analysis of the evolution of domestic basic energy research compared to other countries for 2008–2017 are presented. The main sources of statistical information are the WoS information system and the analytical tools InCites and SciVal. The highest growth rate of scientific products in the world was found in the energy sector (Research Area "Energy & Fuels" (E&F))—3.1 times compared to the 140% growth rate of the world document array. The share of RAS publications in quartiles Q1 and Q2 was 80% in 2017 of the total array of RAS publications in this field. Based on the value of the Jaccard index (not exceeding 0.2), a significant discrepancy was found in energy research areas in almost all countries that cooperated with Russia (except for 0.46 in Kazakhstan). Russian international scientific collaboration in the field of energy is less intensive (10% less) than the average in all scientific areas (32%). The very small number of joint E&F publications with traditional Russian partners, such as Germany, the United States, and France, is alarming. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
