Abstrakt: The residual stresses in composite materials result in severe damage to the designed components. The determination of residual stress is more complex for materials that are anisotropic and non-homogeneous. Therefore, the analysis of residual stresses is getting increasingly important in research. This work aims to address the measurements of residual strains and the analysis of their effects on FRP composites. The composites are fabricated by vacuum bagging technique followed by curing at specific temperature and pressure. The residual strains are determined using the Incremental Hole Drilling technique. In the experiment, a hole of diameter 2 mm was drilled in different steps of depth 0.05 mm, and strains were measured in 3 different directions using strain gauge rosette in each step. This method enables to find the non-uniform residual strains in the through-thickness direction of the composite. It is found that the variation of residual strains decreases as the distance from the tool increases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
