The continental deposits in the end members of their facies series were studied to assess the fundamental probability of the mechanogenic–sedimentary formation of high-quality bauxite. They included eluvial deposits on the bowal surface, which is the area of mobilization of material, and alluvial deposits subjected to the transportation and the most significant sorting under the continental conditions. It is shown that these deposits do not produce high-quality bauxite, even under uniquely favorable conditions, and the mechanogenic–sedimentary process does not provide the conditions for the spatial separation of aluminum from iron and silica, without which high-quality bauxite deposits cannot be formed.
