This article presents an interview with general contractor Tom Silva. To a question on if he ever thought he would be doing the show, he replied that he never expected to be part of the show for so long, although he certainly hoped to. To another question on what he considered the toughest job he said to explain complicated things in a very short amount of time was the toughest. He was asked how trade changed over the course of his career, he answered that he started out working with his dad, using nothing but hand tools. Now of course one use power tools, air tools, even electronic tools, all of which make the job go faster, but not necessarily better. |
