Abstrakt: The article informs that Meagan Dissinger, music teacher, has heard the counterargument to standards-based teaching that the highly organized National Standards are impediments to the creativity, subjectivity and at messiness that occurs in music classrooms. Topics include standards are simply guidelines that help me direct instruction toward specific goals and track student achievement; and use the standards is a perception that standards teacher proof the classroom.
