Abstrakt: The article focuses on Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's proposal to western and Communist blocs for world peace. Nehru always had felt that the West tolerated his criticism because of a basic community of democratic interests. He felt that Russia and China are enough convinced of his impartiality to accept his criticism of their policies without the usual recriminations. He publicly admitted that just as the East had genuine fears of the West, the West and the neutral Southeast Asian neighbors of China could also have a genuine fear of Communist expansionism.
