The latest progress in different aspects of this field of fusion plasma theory has been presented during the 17th International Workshop on Plasma Edge Theory in Magnetic Fusion Devices (PET-17), held in the premises of the University of California San Diego, La Jolla, United States, during August 19-21, 2019. The workshop has attracted 76 participants from the leading fusion institutions all around the world (34 from the EU, 24 from the United States, 16 from Japan, 1 from China, and 1 from Taiwan).
