Abstrakt: Stress is an imbalance condition between expectation and reality received by human. Stress lead to increase level of cortisol in human body. As a respond an innate immunity, cortisol plays a biphasic role in inflammatory condition, as an inflammatory as well as anti-inflammatory agent. In taste receptor cell, taste cells are equipped with various immune mechanisms to challenge the destructive agents. Taste buds will lead the inflammation process by expressed the pro-inflammation cytokines like Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF), in other hand decrease theespression of anti-inflammatory cytokines like Interleukin-10 (IL-1). This upregulation, will affect the stability and cell integrity, as TNF role to activated apoptosis signal, programmed death cell pathway. Meanwhile, disrupted stability and cell integrity will involve quantity and quality of taste buds, as result disorder of taste sensation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
