Abstrakt: Forty normal turkeys divided into four age groups (one week, one month, two months and seven months) were included. The spleen were collectedand prepared for histological and Immunohistochemical studies. The spleen at one week old was surrounded by thincapsule not senttrabeculae, absence of sub capsular sinuses. It composed ofred and white pulp with no clear demarcation between them.At one month old, Sub capsular sinuses were present. White and red pulp well differentiated.Peri arterial lymphatic sheath (PALS) and perivenous lymphatic sheath (PVLS) were present. At two months old, Sub capsular sinuses were observed. At seven months old, many lymphatic nodules were present. The thickness of the splenic capsule and the lymphoid nodules measurements were increased significantly with age. (CD8) antibody revealed presence of mature B lymphocytes within the parenchyma of Bursa at one month, two months and seven months turkey. CD268 no expressed at the first week age while different degrees of expression appeared at the other ages. The spleen is well developed at one month old and older to substituted the primary lymphoid organs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
