The article focuses on performing deep structure in elegies, ballads, and other occasional forms and published works by the Cavalier composer William Lawes. It mentions long-standing patterns in the formation, marketing, and function of these various types of ephemera and ironic gesture for lasting universal expression of human sentiment. It also mentions poignancy of message and human expression and cluttered and befuddling field of ephemera. |
