Abstrakt: The article focuses on Indian nationalist leader Jawaharlal Nehru's views on communism. The history of India's relations with communist China since 1949 is proof at once of Nehru's total indifference to the moral quality of communism where it has triumphed, his territorially limited interest in the fate of other nations at communist hands, and of his passionate concern for defending freedom and democracy for his own country. When the Communist regime established itself on the Chinese mainland at the turn of 1949, India was the first non-communist power to offer it diplomatic recognition.
