Abstrakt: Thermally-induced polycondensation of molybdic acid in the presence of benzotriazole (BTA) yields BTA-intercalated MoO3 (a mixture of hexagonal and anorthic phases) containing a large amount of BTA (up to 40 mol%). The BTA:MoO3 particles were immobilized by electrochemical co-deposition with nickel resulting in the formation of a metal–matrix composite. The release of BTA molecules from the composite coating, which behaves as a container depot system, results in suppression of both corrosion and tribocorrosion processes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
