Abstrakt: Despite the maturity that e-Government implementation has reached, it is still reported that usage of e- Government services is less than satisfactory. If e-Government systems are not used by its intended users, expected benefits will not be achieved. Thus, engaging citizens on usage of e-Government services is a challenge being faced by public administrations around the world. A literature review was conducted in order to identify theoretical perspectives underlying the research on e-Government usage (by citizens) and determine research needs. The findings show that general IT acceptance theories are widely used for both, initial and continued usage of e-Government services, even though specific models have been proposed. Regarding the three elements related to system usage (user, system and task), the findings suggest paying more attention to the task that the citizens have to perform. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
