Abstrakt: My father, Fanie Viljoen, raced a Maserati A6GCS Spyder in the 1959 Johannesburg Nine Hours, as well as a Maserati 200SI in the 1961 South African Grand Prix in East London. In the early 1970s he was keen to buy an A6GCS and started searching for a car, without luck, until he remembered that the Angola Automobile Club had bought two 300S Maseratis in the late 1950s to race in Angola and Mozambique. Richard Disbrow, Dorset Misidentified Maserati I am sure that your identification of the mystery car [below] in the Letters pages of Octane 203 is way off the beam. [Extracted from the article]
