Abstrakt: The article focuses on Marguerite de Valois's "Mémoires" constitute one of the first autobiographical projects undertaken by a woman in France. It mentions participant in the Wars of Religion, the personal and the political are inextricably intertwined throughout her life and death of her brother François led to a succession crisis and launched a new religious war. It also mentions prospective anxiety about the uncertainty of the future and nature of free will and self-determined action.
