The article documents changes in applied microeconomics through plotting time series of methods-related words and phrases from the National Bureau of Economic Research paper series from January 1, 1980 to June 30, 2018 and the top economic journals from January 1, 2004 to August 2019. Topics discussed include dimensions of the revolution in economics, experimental methods, and the role of computing methods and data sources in the development of economics into an applied method. |
