Abstrakt:	The authors discuss a study by C. K. Gutman and colleagues which explored the reproductive health practices of the adolescent population in the pediatric emergency department (ED) and their desire for contraceptive counseling and initiation in this setting. Topics include a discussion of whether EDS should be offering contraceptive care, previously published literature about adolescent population in the pediatric ED, and benefits to providing contraceptives.
