This paper deals with the issues connected to the term cyberwar, in particular with respect to the Czech Republic and the Army of the Czech Republic. After an explanation of the term, a discussion follows on changes in the nature of armed conflicts within the context of a new operational domain. Answers are subsequently sought to the question of whether rivalry/action in a virtual space can replace actual physical violence. The implications of such a change, if any, are discussed in detail, with a particular focus on the impact of cyber-attacks on the security and defence of the Czech Republic and whether the Army of the Czech Republic therefore needs offensive cyber skills.
